Ex Circumvesuviana, Caldoro: “80 Million to Revamp Trains”

During the press conference held this afternoon at Palazzo Santa Lucia, President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro has stated: “Regione Campania approved additional 80 million € to invest in enhancing and revamping of 37 trains of the ex Circumvesuviana”. Regional Minister for Transport Sergio Vetrella has attended the conference.

Revamping scheduled actions for the railway vehicles aim at providing users with an enhanced service, especially: more comfort, accessibility and increased safety. Investment will allow to purchase new trains and, in details, actions on the trains already in use, such as air conditioning, sound and noise insulation and reduction, and new sat technologies.

Mr Caldoro has stated: “It was necessary to find resources to invest in transport. And a new planning of structural funds has made it possible to find resources to invest in train maintenance. For the coming months, we wish to see more and more trains on tracks”.

Mr Vetrella emphasized: “Enhancement will focus first on revamping of trains already in use, since it will be shortly implemented, and, then, on purchase of new trains”.
