Healthcare, Caldoro: “Extraordinary Outcome on Catching Up Delays of Payment”

A positive aspect exists. And CGIA of Mestre recorded it since, for the first three months of 2013, certified the best performance of Campania for shortening payment time by public healthcare facilities concerning medical devices supply.

While the payment time from the national point of view is 14 days, Campania has reduced its time by 83 days.

President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro added: “If you pay, it means the system works, generates economy and healthcare sector recovers.Obvioulsy, we have historical delays to make up for but this is the best trend in Italy. We can discuss and do what we could not do in the past, that is raise our voice and emphasize that Campania cannot keep on wasting resources”.

Moreover, the President underlined saving on the pharmaceutical expense following the Commissioner’s decree that envisages local health authorities have the duty to prescribe mainly generics.
