President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro met at the Prefettura of Naples Minister for Home Affairs Angelino Alfano, before the meeting of the National Board for Public Law, Order and Security.

The meeting focused first on the burning issues of the Land of Fires.

Governor emphasised: “We have clearly debated on the Land of Fires with Minister Alfano, on the grounds of the national responsibilities. The Prefect underlined that results have been achieved, although the problem of burning has not been solved yet. But the latest figures and facts, highlighted by Prefect Cafagna, who is responsible for issues related to toxic burning in Campania, shows a reduction in the phenomenon, especially as for burning of tyres. We have also debated with the Minister about the activities to implement through the bill. In Campania, we have already started soils delimitation. Then, we will have to implement practical monitoring and remediation actions. Some of them are already in progress, such as in the area of ex Resit and other important landfills. We will carry on quickly.”
