Legality, Giancarlo Siani’s Mehari runs again

Legality, Giancarlo Siani’s Mehari runs again

A great event dedicated to Giancarlo Siani, Il Mattino journalist murdered by camorra on 23 September 1985. It will start off from the place of the murder passing through various spots of Naples. The Mehari – Giancarlo’s car – is the protagonist, witness of the murder and of a passion for legality, and also used for Marco Risi’s film Fortapasc.

It is the “Viaggio con la Mehari”, the project sponsored by Regione Campania and the Municipality of Naples.

It was Roberto Saviano who started again the engine of the restored car. With him other famous names of culture and politics, from the President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro to the Mayor of Naples Luigi De Magistris, and also Don Luigi Ciotti, Raffaele Cantone, Giovanni Minoli and Paolo Siani.

The event takes place on the 28th anniversary of Giancarlo’s death and coincides with the Premio Siani.

An important event, therefore, to remember the Neapolitan journalist and spread a message against criminal phenomena. “Camorra is worth nothing” is the slogan standing out on the car and throughout the city.

From 27 September to 15 October the Mehari will be at the Palazzo delle Arti of Naples.
