Opening of Legal Year Court of Auditors, in Campania Excellent Saving and Legality Policy
A huge reduction of political costs is the key element resulted from the opening ceremony of the legal year, held at the Court of Auditors in Naples.
In Campania, there was over 60% decrease.
Positive trends emphasized during the speech of Regional Prosecutor of the Campania Court of Auditors Tommaso Cottone, who also spoke of a radical shift. Moreover, the Prosecutor highlighted the reduction of healthcare indebtedness. And he focused on subsidiaries and the accounting system of political costs.
To conclude, the accounting Court of Campania emphasised that “in Campania, we are progressively heading for the so long expected recovery process of public administration, and, after past irregularities, legality is finally approaching”.
President Fiorenzo Santoro opened the ceremony, attended by, among others, President of Regione Campania, Stefano Caldoro, President of the Campania Regional Council Paolo Romano, Mayor of Naples, Luigi De Magistris, and Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe.
President Caldoro spoke about “a difficult job to put the regional finances in order”. But he was happy with the acknowledgement received. He added: “We go on this path, encouraged by the good job done, aware of the recommendations of the Public Prosecution; there are areas of the regional expenditure to be focused on, such as subsidiaries, but without any social massacre”. He concluded: “Especially in these periods of crisis, we cannot afford new unemployment”.
Thus, Caldoro spoke about Regione’s political past, complaining of a kind of “political immunity”, not from the legal point of view but as for the media context, given to those who caused a real “tsunami” and concluded “whereas, we are not even given time to solve problems”.
