“I am a big supporter of the project for the disusage of the army barracks of Miano-Scampia for its usage in economic and social activities”, said the Regional Minister for Urban Planning and Territory Government Marcello Taglialatela, during a meeting on the outlooks for the quartier held at the prefecture.

“For relaunching Scampia it is necessary – Taglialatela underlined – to accelerate and quickly complete the ongoing actions.

“Besides these, I believe that a conversion of a 100-thousand-square-metres structure – on which the army itself would not find it difficult to agree, since there are other barracks less than a kilometre away – would give the possibility to host artisan and business activities, and an entertainment centre that will be very useful for the growth and the development of this area.

“I will work – Taglialatela concluded – on a hypothesis of urban redevelopment to finance with the next ROP 2014 – 2020”.
