Transport, Quicker Resources for Eav and no More Waste

Transport, Quicker Resources for Eav and no More Waste

Regional Administration for Transport and Road Conditions of Campania transferred funds for service contracts to Eav. This is the first time after several years for contracts to be covered directly by the Authority.

The financial practice of transferring contracts, adopted by the centre-left party Executive Boards, made the financial institution IFITALIA the sole holder of credit rights for those contracts. This condition obliged the regional Administration I lead, over these first years, to pay necessary funds to cover services to the above mentioned IFITALIA and not directly to Eav. This caused, more than once, a delay in the transfer of resources to the regional transport companies that resulted in delay in paying the workers’ salaries. The final overcoming of duties to IFITALIA, that will allow the direct transfer of funds to Eav Srl will enable it to fulfil its duties to workers and suppliers punctually – Regional Minister for Transport Sergio Vetrella explained.

We are carrying out a deep change process – Mr. Vetrella added – and it does not concern regional transport companies only, but the whole Local Public Transport System (TPL) of Regione Campania. This overall upgrading is very urgent and necessary since it is demanded by recent new laws and represents the road for the removal of overlapping, lack of efficiency and waste that hinder our transport system and result in disruptions for citizens.

The direct payment to Eav srl is included in this broader action, that is implemented through: the recovery plan, the separation between the company that owns the transport infrastructure and the business that holds the management of services, and the re-planning of the minimum services network on the whole regional territory. The recovery and the efficiency restoration of the regional companies will enable them to participate in service bidding procedures along with the other competitors. I am ready to gather any suggestion citizens will send to my website www.sergiovetrella.it through the dedicated section.
