The Status of Zona Franca (Free zone) has been acknowledged to the Interport (freight village) of Campania. As a matter of fact, in the past days the Customs Agency expressed its approval of the request for a project by the Campania centre, which so becomes the first in Italy to have this kind of recognition. The President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro has expressed his satisfaction: “This is very good news”, - the governor commented. “In this way it has been rewarded the work of Gianni Punzo, which, with determination, has carried out the project, and the engagement of a lot of private citizens and of Institutions which in the past years have supported the district. It is the first in Italy – Caldoro has later added – and there are the conditions for really being the protagonists of the Mediterranean”.
Later on, about the perspectives on the development of the area, the President underlined: “The Interporto even more authoritatively runs for being a hub capable of guaranteeing a system of advanced logistics, also thanks to a strategic position of absolute significance. The Zona Franca – Caldoro concluded – represents an operational incentive that is perfectly consistent with the strategies for investment attraction that Regione Campania is defining these weeks with Desk Italia”.
Also for the advisor responsible for the Productive Activities, Fulvio Martusciello, it is “an opportunity to fully activate what Regione Campania has planned in order to create new jobs and for the competitive development of the territory”. “The institution of Zona Franca – Martusciello continued – represents a qualitative leap for the attraction of investment as well as a decisive element for affecting competitiveness and the dimensional growth of businesses”.
