The Regional Executive Board met the Mayors of Campania at the Auditorium of the Centro direzionale of Naples (isola C 3) to debate about acceleration of expenditure concerning structural funds. President of the Campania Regional Executive Board Stefano Caldoro stated: “A reply to Municipalities of the region that will receive over one billion € for expenditure concerning the environmental and urban reclamation”. He pointed out that this is an expenditure “that addresses public works for approximately 600 Municipalities” and emphasised the choice to accelerate the implementation of the Campania EFDR Regional Operational Programme for the period 2007-2013 as “an effective reply from a region with a planning capacity”. By 15 January 2014, the Municipalities of the region, in associations too, and the Foundations controlled by Local and/or Public Authorities and non-profit institutions supervised by the State can submit their request for a notice they could benefit from, as possible beneficiaries, to receive funds on projects concerning: Environment, Public Works, Civil Protection, Urban Development for upgrading actions and activities concerning regional minor ports. Regional Ministers for Public Works Edoardo Cosenza, for Production Activities Fulvio Martusciello, of Environment Giovanni Romano, for the Territory Governance Ermanno Russo, for Local Authorities Pasquale Sommese, the Managing Authority, represented by Dario Gargiulo and Member of the Regional Council responsible for territorial planning and cohesion of small Municipalities Giovanni Fortunato, as well as the Presidents of the Campania Associations of Local Autonomies attended the meeting.
