The specialised training courses for engineers aim at a proper assessment of suitability for use and habitation and damages suffered from buildings during earthquakes (AeDes forms). The courses will be held at the Regional School of Civil Protection at Palazzo Armieri, and are included in the national Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Department of Civil Protection and the National Council of Engineers.
In Campania two hundred engineers registered for this education programme that has 10 training modules and a final exam.
The courses are five and have been arranged by province, in accordance with the relevant professional associations.
Regional Minister for Civil Protection Edoardo Cosenza stated: “The final aim is the drafting of a regional list of expert technicians, properly trained and able to supply their professional skills for checks during emergency”.
Mr Cosenza concluded: “I’m very thankful to the President of the Federation of Engineers Franco Cardone and all the professionals who registered, for the awareness shown. It is important to have in Campania professional skills to use in case of emergency”.
