Right to Education, Extension for School Books Vouchers by Executive Board

“Regione Campania has decided to extend the usage of vouchers until 31/10/2012, beyond the limit of the school year, in order to guarantee an effective use of the vouchers and therefore a real use of the right to education for families”.

This is how the Regional Minister of Education of Regione Campania Caterina Miraglia comments the resolution approved today by the Executive Board on the new criteria with regards to the possibility to spend the vouchers for textbooks of compulsory school (I and II level).

“I have proposed this new measure because the funds – the Regional Minister underlines – have been included in the chapter of the Ministry of the Interior’s competency only on 14 December 2011, with great delay.

“It has also been decided – the Regional Minister concluded – to let the Municipal Administrations choose the ways of distribution to those eligible, in respect of the 2011/2012 rankings, and the possibility to possibly use economies in the following years”.
