Operation Truth about Distribution Criteria of Healthcare Fund

13/12/2012 - President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro commented on the remarks of Undersecretary of Health Adelfio Elio Cardinale: “We have demanded, urged and confirmed the operation truth. Campania, according to data processed also by some of our representatives, has many historical weaknesses related to environmental and epidemiological factors, particularly in some regional areas. These are data we largely know since they have been supplied through surveys until 2010”.

Mr Caldoro continued: “When we settled, the first surveys carried out immediately worried us and we promptly started monitoring the research progress. We repeatedly pointed out to the Government and the other Regions the negative life expectations of Southern regions, that in the future will have to be the real re-balancing factor in the healthcare fund distribution”.

“It is important to overcome the old parameters that consider only old age as the main indicator. As emphasised by the Government reply to the point of order of MP Russo, the positive aspect is the decrease of the incidence concerning several diseases. It means that, although we had no additional resources, we started a trend reversal to ensure better performances”.
