Campania is the Italian region that has obtained the best performance in reducing payment time for the supply of medical devices by public healthcare structures over the first three months of 2013. This is the result of a survey of the CGIA of Mestre, based on data by Assobiomedica. Campania succeeded in reducing by 83 days this waiting period, compared to a 14 day average reduction on a national level. This reduction, on a regional level, is twice the reduction of Sardinia.
President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro emphasised: “The trend for the whole regional healthcare expense is confirmed. This is the way to enhance services for citizens. Nobody can think of improving services without solving financial problems and ensuring payments”.
