Regione to CISL: Let’s Join Together to Restart Turnover

President’s Advisor for issues concerning healthcare Raffaele CalabròandDeputy Commissioner of Healthcare of Regione Campania Mario Morlacco reply to CISL:

“Issues concerning Campania healthcare may be basically related to a questionable national ruling that has been blocking hiring procedures for years. Belligerence won’t help in solving the situation and only joining together we will succeed in obtaining the turnover restart, that depends only on Government”.

Mr Calabrò pointed out: “The trade union is well aware that the commissioner administration has been fighting at least for two years to obtain the green light by Government on the possibility to hire healthcare personnel and that I repeatedly and personally made all possible efforts to report about extremely difficult and terrible conditions our physicians and healthcare operators have to work in in our region. I ask CISL to support Regione in avoiding that the Regions that went beyond the expenditure limits are excluded from the Decree about the offsetting of PA credits and debts, strongly demanded by PDL Party Secretary Alfano”.

Mr Morlacco added: “It has been difficult up to date to ensure not only care levels but also a real progress in the system re-organisation in an emergency, worsened by the inherited debt situation. A taskforce is trying to ensure payments and to allow private facilities to continue to work; but we should take into consideration that we are facing a huge debt situation, up to 2009, and disputes that have been consuming important resources due to several unproductive expenses. This is all about to be ended and in the near future those resources will address healthcare activities and health protection".

Mr Morlacco concluded: “Concerning the requests, we fully agree on the turnover restart. Now we can allow it, but the Government has to change that law. Moreover, we also mean to make the Healthcare Taskforce with all social forces more continuous”.

Mr Calabrò ended: “This is not the time for divisions or hostility if we want the rights of Campania citizens not to be just an ignored cahier de doléances”.
