From 1 January 2012, Regione Campania manages the car tax exemption for disabled people and duty suspension for car dealers, previously managed by the Agenzia delle Entrate (Italian Revenue Agency).
A memorandum of understanding has been signed today by the two administrations, in order to avoid problems resulting from the transfer of responsibilities.
The memorandum has been signed by Regional Minister for Budget Gaetano Giancane, delegated by President Caldoro, and by regional Agency Director Enrico Sangermano.
It will apply until 31 March 2012. Over these three months, the Offices of the Agenzia delle Entrate will accept applications and supporting documents for exemptions and will send them to the Finance and Tax Sector of Regione, located at the Centro direzionale Isola 5.
Concerning those applications submitted till 31 December 2011, to be handled, the Agenzia delle Entrate will send deeds to Regione along with a detailed opinion on the concession or the denial of the benefit.
Both Regione and Agenzia delle Entrate committed themselves to disclose the reached agreement in order to manage the transition of functions with continuity and without any disruption for citizens.
Regional Minister Giancane emphasized: “The signed agreement establishes an important cooperation between the two administrations in order to ensure an effective level of information and the prompt elimination of possible disruptions that could be caused by the transfer of responsibilities”.
Moreover, the annual agreement with the Agenzia delle Entrate concerning IRAP (Regional Tax on Production Activities) and regional additional IRPEF (Income Tax on Individuals) has been renewed. This will ensure assistance to taxpayers for the correct tax application and for its duty fulfilment.
