Regional Finance, Sommese: "Debate on 2012 Budget among All Forces to Be Called Immediately"

The proposal launched by President Caldoro and the availability offered by the opposition are an important chance to start immediately a debate among all political forces of the Regional Council, all social forces and local Autonomies representatives, and to start working immediately on the 2012 budget, being aware that it is no more possible to get to the end of the year with amendments drafted only to save this, rather than that local interest and take advantages from approvals.

Regional Minister for Human Resources and for Relations with Local Authorities Pasquale Sommese said: “The crisis we are experiencing internationally urges us to take on our responsibilities. We cannot either still consider to achieve one more or one less funding during those “smoky” nights of financial sessions or state quite demagogically that nothing is working. It is time for all of us to take on our responsibility if we are willing to save what can be still saved and start over again for a successful development in Campania.

The Regional Executive Board led by Caldoro is practically showing its commitment to strictly fight waste and to streamline all existing resources, human resources first.

The new administration organization we approved at the beginning of August moves towards this direction. We reduced executive structures from 500 to 250 with a remarkable saving and a simplification of procedures to answer promptly, effectively and transparently citizens.

Mr. Sommese concluded: “We aim at going on along this road. And we are sure that all social, political and representative forces will understand fully the difficult situation in order to share with us the drafting of a Budget Law that could complete the path started during this year of office through the implemented actions which allowed us to save more than 21 million €”.
