The classification of the ideas competition “Experimental Models for an innovative planning and design: ideas to enhance Campania landscapes” has been published in the latest issue of the Official Journal. The competition aim is to acquire innovative ideas of young professionals who use models based on an adequate balance between growth and landscape.
The selected ideas are designed to improve environmental quality, re-arrange the areas for an environmentally sustainable development, find transformation procedures for the areas to limit ground consumption and spread renewable energy use, for urban and settlement regeneration and renewal, environmental urban and architectural recovery of buildings, use of bio-architecture and environmentally friendly materials, quality and quantity implementation of outdoor public spaces, and, especially, of green areas.
39 projects have been submitted.
There are 15 prizes, 6 thousand € each, to be won.

The call especially focused on experimental fields, selected as areas of intervention survey, corresponding to Complex Territorial Fields (Ctc) established by the Regional Territorial Plan (PTR), namely the lower and upper part of the Caserta area basso, Regi Lagni – Caserta urban area, northern track Naples/Caserta, Acerra – Giugliano area; the upper part of the Sannio and Irpinia areas, interprovincial area of Caserta/Benevento/Avellino; Salerno coast, the internal and coastal area of Cilento; Sorrento and Amalfi coasts – Island of Capri; Domitian coast; Vesuvio area – Sarno Plain – Nola area; Phlegrean Fields, Ischia and Procida islands.
The ideas are based on the research for new low environmental impact economies. In details, at their core, there are: the re-use of former industrial and production areas, former shopping centres, rural landscape, urban front upgrading of a small city, the multifunctional agricultural park, the establishment of short networks between production and consumption, the setting up of new craft and agricultural areas, landscape and environmental design of environmentally friendly infrastructure and a railway interregional transport network, sustainable tourism in internal or coastal areas, an environmental corridor (mountains, valleys, coasts), a pit recovery, a urban plan and a simplified building code of a small city.
