Agreement for the Land of Fires

Regione has been the first authority to comply with the Agreement for the Land of Fires.

In details, a bill on “Special Measures to prevent and fight waste abandonment and burning” (already approved by the VII Committee of the Regional Council) has been approved to implement the Agreement.

Moreover, a call with concrete 5 million € resources for Municipalities has been prepared and published. These resources aim at funding monitoring and environmental protection activities to fight burning in the provinces of Naples and Caserta. Resources will fund projects submitted by the authorities that signed the Agreement for the Land of Fires, for the purchase of infrastructure and cutting-edge technologies for the operators involved in the monitoring and fire-fighting activities; the call has been published in the BURC (Regional Official Journal of Campania) of 07/10/2013.

Training courses for Commanders and operators of the Municipal Police Force concerning illegal disposal of waste investigation and land monitoring techniques will be arranged through the Regional School of Local Police.
