Cultural diversity and sustainable development. These are the ingredients of the Universal Forum of Cultures recipe, to be held over the next spring in Campania.
President of Regione Campania Stefano Caldoro, who attended the official presentation of the Forum took place at Teatro San Carlo of Naples stated: “This is an international event to be held in the Unesco sites that will become the location for the intercultural debate”. President Caldoro also pointed out the ability to arrange quality events, decreasing expenditure.
Regional Minister for Culture Caterina Miraglia, Mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris and Mayor of Barcelona Xavier Trias also participated in the presentation.
The San Carlo Orchestra gave its wish to the Forum with a musical tribute to citizens and institutional representatives.
The Forum, promoted by Unesco, has been started in Barcelona in 2004 and aims at promoting the intercultural debate and the knowledge among populations, based on respect for diversity, humankind, sustainable and peaceful development. Thus, it focuses on culture as a transformation tool. The previous editions took place in Valparaiso (2010), Monterrey (2007), and Barcelona (2004).
