Pozzuoli, Caldoro: "After 50 years we return cathedral of Rione Terra to faithfuls"

President of Regione Campania, Stefano Caldoro, participated in the ceremony to re-open the Cathedral San Procolo Martire in Pozzuoli, in the Rione Terra area to the faithfuls. The Church, spoiled by a fire in May 1964, has been restored after 50 years, due to an allocation of over 150 million € from Regione Campania through international tenders.

Among the others, Mayor of Pozzuoli Vincenzo Figliolia, Regional Ministers for Culture and Public Works Caterina Miraglia and Edoardo Cosenza, US Consul General in Naples Colombia Barrosse attended the event, chaired by the bishop of Pozzuoli, Monsignor Gennaro Pascarella.

President Caldoro pointed out: “A great day. Thanks to all those who have worked for this, days and nights. Rione Terra is the best Italy can offer and around this initiative there is a lot of work done by the institutions. In such a difficult moment for our country, it is important to work together for the common good”.

Mr Figliolia pointed out: “I have to acknowledge the big effort of Regione Campania, especially for the 30 million € allocation to re-open works at Rione Terra”.
