Weather Warning, Heat Wave to Continue

Civil Protection of Regione Campania, led by Regional Minister Edoardo Cosenza, warns against the heat wave that will continue at least until next Friday.

Maximum temperature may reach, during the hottest hours and in some areas 38 degrees, while over the night, when minimum temperatures will remain above 25 degrees, humidity rate will exceed 90%: this situation is also related to a poor ventilation.

Having considered the warning against the heat wave issued today by the functional Centre of the Civil Protection, the regional operations Room has invited Mayors and competent Authorities to follow and implement the relevant procedures they are responsible for to monitor vulnerable groups of the population.

It is strongly suggested people do not expose themselves to the sunlight or exercise in the hottest hours.

Moreover, people suffering from heart problems, elderly people, children and endangered people should also be very careful.

Furthermore, the Civil Protection, considering that the weather conditions may cause possible fires, recommend authorities to monitor closely the territory.
