The ERDF Inter-regional Operational Programme aims at building conditions for an economic and social development policy, mainly based on the creation and the subsequent promotion of an interregional system of cultural and natural tourism. This system is composed of places (Hubs) where appropriate conditions exist to trigger valorisation processes able to affect positively the economic development of the above mentioned territories.
The inter-regional strategy adopted in the Programme of valorisation, for tourist purposes too, of the assets of the cultural and natural attractors of the regions of the Convergence Objective (namely Campania, Apulia, Calabria and Sicily) is based on the selection of Hubs and interregional networks.
The involved central administrations are the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities (MIBAC), the Ministry of Environment and Land and Sea Protection (MATTM) and the Department for Tourism.
Regione Campania’s candidate hub is the “Bay of Naples”, to promote and visit as a single landscape and historic place.
The reference inter-regional network is the “Tourist Landing Sites of the Mediterranean”. The idea at the origin of the network is the Mediterranean, the sea not only as a resource to bath or to enjoy from the sales point of view but mainly as a cultural resource as it was in the past.
Inter-regional implementation Programme (PAIn) “Cultural and Natural Attractors and Tourism” Underutilised Areas Fund (FAS).
Besides the convergence regions, namely Calabria, Campania, Apulia and Sicily, the PAIn –FAS involves also those regions under the CRO (the Regional Competitiveness and Employment) Abruzzi, Molise, Basilicata and Sardinia.
The central administrations involved are the same involved in the PAIn.
Regione Campania has the two following tourism hubs candidate for the PAIn actions:
