Right to education and infrastructures for the centre are the priorities; together with the debate which took place at Palazzo Santa Lucia, between the Regional Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Caterina Miraglia and Guido Trombetti, and the new Ministry of Education and Scientific Research Maria Chiara Carrozza.
Also attending the undersecretary Marco Rossi Doria and the chief of the Cabinet Office of the Ministry Luigi Fiorentino.
The regional ministers pointed out to the minister the necessity to face the problem of the scarceness of resources destined to the right to education, considering that the number of scholarships issued to those worthy and in need is ridiculous, while the number of beds is absolutely insufficient.
The topic of right to study was subject matter for discussion also with relation to the needs of the school world, and especially to the old infrastructural deficiency.
In particular, the Regional Minister Caterina Miraglia examined the problems of the school world at length, both the ones related to infrastructures and those related to the high rate of drop-outs, which in Campania reaches alarming levels.
They also discussed about the innovative experience realised by the Regional Administration for University of Regione Campania with the PhDs in firms, and about the necessity to keep the attention high on the PhDs issue as for the quality of educational offerings.
The Minister Carrozza found the experience of PhDs in firms very interesting, also expressing her appreciation for the project of the San Giovanni a Teduccio campus, which will host University, CNR (National Research Council) and firms.
The Regional Minister Trombetti also mentioned to the Minister the necessity to accelerate the transfer of financial resources, already allocated, for about 20 million Euros, necessary to finish and furnish the Faculty of Medicine in Scampia.
At the same time, the Regional Minister Caterina Miraglia expressed the necessity to prepare a programme for the constitution of public funds aimed at the maintenance and management of university halls of residence.
