The Campania Regional Executive Board agreed on the go-ahead to the completion of the University Centre of San Giovanni a Teduccio by signing the framework agreement. He stated: “Today, it’s East Naples’ turn but in the future it will be the Northern area’s turn with Scampia and the University General Hospital”. Mr Caldoro emphasised that “the virtuous position of Campania concerning the measures to accelerate expenditure makes it possible to release the European Funds we decided to use for students and labs”. He added: “As Regione, we are willing to keep our leading position in the innovation, research and training fields and the University Centre of San Giovanni a Teduccio is a proof of the good outcomes of this cooperation”. The total allocation for these actions will be 55 million and 400 thousand € of European funds. Particularly, 45 million € will be used for the new teaching centre of San Giovanni a Teduccio: 28 million for classrooms, multitasking areas and areas for teachers and 17 million for the lab of the new material centre of the CNR. In addition, the remaining 10.4 million € will be used to complete the biotechnological centre of Via Castellino.
