The Regional Plan of Extractive Activities (P.R.A.E.) is the planning act on which guidelines and aims of the research and excavations of quarrying are based in compliance with environmental, landscape, archaeological, infrastructural and hydrogeological laws within the context of social and economic planning.

The Plan aims at a fair environmentally friendly use of natural resources in compliance with the physical, biological, landscape and monumental features of the territory.

The rational planning and programming of quarrying material extractions is connected to choices made by Regione that considers the regional economic development as well as all its related implications.

The Sector for Quarries and Mires and the Provincial Sectors of Civil Engineering play a major role in the implementation of the regional plan of extractive activities through their functions of preliminary research, technical and administrative support as well as their land control and supervision.
