Administrative Reform: 15 General Directors Appointed

The administrative reform, approved ten months ago by the regional Executive Board led by Mr Caldoro to replace the old office organization that dated back to 1991, has been completed by appointing 15 General Directors.

The 15 General Directors will side the 5 Heads of Department.

Here follow the names: Pietro Angelino – Town Planning; Giuseppe Carannante – Economic Planning and Tourism; Filippo Diasco – Agriculture; Mauro Ferrara – State Property; Dario Gargiulo – European Funds; Italo Giulivo – Public Works; Francesco Iannuzzi – Production Activities; Antonio Marchiello – Transport; Antonio Oddati – Employment; Michele Palmieri – Environment; Giovanna Paolantonio – Human Resources; Rosanna Romano – Social Policy; Bruno Rosati – Budget (Vice Director); Silvio Uccello – Scientific Research; Mario Vasco – Healthcare.

Regional Minister for Human Resources of Campania Pasquale Sommese stated: “We keep the commitments that President Caldoro and the Executive Board took on when a deadline was set on 1 October to complete the implementation of the new administrative system”.

We reduce executive structures from 528 of 2010 to current 350, including the UDCP (Offices in direct cooperation with the President), with a remarkable cost reduction aiming at giving prompt and opportune replies to questions arisen by citizens to public administrations- Mr. Sommese pointed out.

We intend to foster to the utmost our executives’ professionalism, starting from top executives, to turn this reform into an extraordinary opportunity to create a modern, executive and innovated public administration – Mr. Sommese added.

“We confirmed the principle of job rotation for managerial offices. More than 2/3 of the newly appointed General Directors come from different offices. We also respected the principle of equal opportunities choosing two women to run Human Resources, and Social Policy and Cultural Heritage”.

The Executive Board led by President Caldoro is implementing a pivotal reform that removes overlapping, simplifies procedures, reduces costs and gives Regione back its planning and control role, that remains the real mission of an effective and efficient public administration. In the coming hours, administration will be completed with the remaining executive assignments – Regional Minister concluded.
