A3 Motorway, Green Light to Opening of “Vesuvio” Overpass

“Works for the steel girder of the “Vesuvio” overpass of the A3 Motorway Naples- Pompei - Salerno have been started”

Regional Minister for Public Works and Civil protection of Campania Edoardo Cosenza, who received the official communication by the company that handles the works on behalf of Autostrade Meridionali, announced it.

Structural supports of the overpass that will connect Trecase with Torre Annunziata, as well as their frame structures have been completed. In approximately a month, reinforced concrete works and testing will be finished too in order to open its access to vehicles, as reported by Autostrade Meridionali.

“The Regional Administration Offices I lead are constantly monitoring the implementation of works in order to allow the reopening of the bridge of Via Vesuvio as soon as possible to meet the needs of local citizens. The overpass plays a strategic key role for the Vesuvio risk and for the emergency evacuation plan set up by the National Civil Protection Agency”.

Mayor of Torre Annunziata Giosuè Starita was also very satisfied with the works and added: “This confirms the strong commitment of Regional Minister Cosenza to ensure an immediate solution for the problems that affect the citizens of the whole area”.
