Regional Minister for Social Policy Ermanno Russo commented on the presentation of the Guidelines for the implementation of the National Programme of Care Services included in the Action and Cohesion Plan (PAC) that allocates over 200 million € for the Municipalities of Campania for projects addressing children and non-self-sufficient elderly people: “The Regional Executive Board allocated, under a total plan of 185 Million €, 85 for children and elderly people. This sum will be increased by the allocations of the Cohesion and Action Plan that are fresh air to better meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups. With a big effort, we succeeded in granting resources to support day care centres. With the additional funds of the PAC 2, facilities will obtain more resources to ensure continuity and management over the next years”.
Along with the Regional Minister, Prefetto Silvana Riccio, who is the Managing Authority of the projects, Vice prefetto Vincenzo De Vivo, from the Prefettura of Naples, Councillor for the Municipality of Naples Roberto Gaeta, Councillor for the Province of Naples Filippo Monaco, President of Anci Campania Francesco Paolo Iannuzzi and representative of the Assessment Unit on Public Investment for the Department of Development and Cohesion Policies Paola Casavola participated in the presentation of the Programme, that took place at the Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte in Naples.
The total appropriation of the project is 730 million, divided into 400 for children and 330 for non-self-sufficient elderly people, and it involves the following regions: Campania, Calabria, Apulia and Sicily. In particular, for Campania 214 million is envisaged, of which 118 for children and 96 for elderly people. The beneficiary parties of the funds will be the Municipalities, that will draft and submit their own action plan by 14 December 2013. The presentation road show will continue on 23 July in Catanzaro and on 24 in Palermo.
