Operation “Porto Pulito”, waste removed from the seabed

Thanks to the operation “Porto pulito”, 9 tons of waste have been removed from the seabed of eight tourist ports in Campania. The operation has been carried out by the Regional Administration for the Environment in cooperation with the Campania Maritime Authority.

The just finished activity goes together with another one which has just started, and which deals with the removal of the floating waste along the entire Campania coast; for this operation 15 sea sweeper boats of the company which won the tender, Impec mare srl, are sweeping plastic bags, waste and various refuse at seaside places.

The service will be operating eight hours a day 24/7 until the end of the summer, according to weather conditions.

The stopping ports are: Sessa Aurunca, Castelvolturno, Baia, Procida, Ischia, Nisida, Torre del Greco, Castellammare, Capri, Maiori, Salerno, Agropoli, San Nicola a Mare, Palinuro and Scario.
