Regional Minister of Environment Giovanni Romano commented on the new remote sensing mission for the water monitoring of the Calore river bed: “Regione Campania goes on monitoring its land. The work of the Regional Administration of the Environment will go on relentlessly especially to protect the most critical areas”.
This initiative is part of the agreement between Regione Campania and the Corps of Harbour Masters and Coast Guard.
Aerial missions started last December and aim at testing the method functioning and an overflight of the Domitian and Phlegrean Coast from the mouth of the Volturno to the Gulf of Pozzuoli and more checks on the neighbouring internal areas included in the perimeter of the Municipalities that joined the “Agreement for the Land of Fires”. In the last days, the areas of the river Solofrana and the Sarno river system have been monitored.
During the mission, some criticalities have been found and are currently being classified to select required actions for a solution to existing problems.
